Microcurrent pain treatment speeds up the healing process by reducing swelling which then increases blood flow to the affected areas. Multiple sites can be treated at the same time. The treatment improves the cellular metabolism of the injured tissues. This is accomplished by applying a specific frequency of minute, electrical impulses to the cells of an injured nerve, joint, muscle or tendon. This in turn facilitates the healing process, which alleviates the pain.
Pain relief therapy through microcurrent stimulation is achieved with little or no discomfort. Many people experience some relief through other means, but when treated with the microcurrent technique, they note a significant decrease in pain. Results vary, depending on the severity of the symptoms, but most people see amazing improvement or complete pain relief within three to five sessions. The sessions are 20 to 40 minutes in duration. Best results are achieved with consecutive treatments (i.e. three to five sessions per week) as the microcurrent therapy has a cumulative effect. This therapy is not only highly effective, but also convenient in that the sessions are brief and usually short term.
